Program 2026

Five years of Journalismusfest Innsbruck

Every May, we open a window onto the complex present that we live in.  This programme outlines what to expect at the 5th edition of the International Days of Information by Journalismusfest Innsbruck. As the non-profit organisation behind this festival, we are very proud to celebrate this milestone anniversary.

Since its very beginning Journalismusfest Innsbruck was conceived as “a meeting place, a place for debate and cultural exchange”. Achieving this with such widespread international participation has surpassed all our expectations.

The festival has become an integral part of the city, firmly marked in the calendars of attendees and participants alike. By the close of our 5th edition, we will have welcomed more than 550 guests from 45 nations over the years.

There is a clear demand for face-to-face dialogue, conversation and discussion and the opportunity to experience exhibitions, screenings and podcast recordings live. Interest has grown significantly: last year alone, the festival recorded around 7,500 visits. For this reason, we are committed to providing free access to most of our events.

Journalismusfest is made possible mainly through the support of public funding agencies, foundations, associations and a series of partnerships, including editorial offices. In addition to that, we are happy to be able to count on the contributions of so many others. With public resources becoming more limited, we kindly ask for voluntary donations.

As always, all of our events are accessible on foot or by bike.

A warm welcome!

The organisers are committed to making the festival as climate-friendly as possible. We kindly ask our guests to take climate-friendly transport options to travel to Innsbruck. The Tyrolean transport association VVT is our “Partner for a Better Climate”.
