A weekend with a view

Look closely at what is happening.
Ilse Aichinger

Program

For three days, journalists will meet other knowledgeable mediators of information from different regions of the world in Innsbruck. In conversations with colleagues and other experts, visitors find out what is going on behind the scenes of the information on international events, which is often hastily and superficially conveyed, and can contribute.

Current social, political and cultural developments are the focus of the debates, from book presentations, exhibitions, doc-films and audio features. The Journalismusfest Innsbruck opens a window to the complex present in which we live.

Euroregion: 100 Years of Radio.

100 years after broadcasters in Austria and Italy first went on air, radio still plays a vital role in the media landscape—including analogue radio. At the same time, this medium stands in front of new challenges and opportunities. Podcasts expand the information offer and chime in a renaissance of audio. Regional coverage, however, appears to be increasingly challenged by the growing impact of globalisation on the realm of one’s own reality of life. With public-service broadcasters, private radio stations and non-commercial independent radios, the radio content available in the Euroregion Tyrol – South Tyrol – Trentino is quite impressive.
