Whether it is fungi or bacteria, many pathogens are developing resistance to medications – to such an extent that it is already considered a silent pandemic. According to forecasts, unless the scientific community and politicians take action, ten million people a year could die by 2050 in connection with infections caused by drug-resistant pathogens. To take countermeasures we need to understand one thing above all: Human, animal, plant and ecological health are closely intertwined and interdependent.
