Isabella Huser, author, based in Zurich and Berlin. Her most recent publication is “Zigeuner” (Gypsies), a family saga that spans over two centuries and is based on ancestral research on her own father’s family and the persecution of the Yenish in Switzerland in the 19th and 20th century (published by Bilgerverlag, 2nd edition 2024). Huser studied Translation in Zurich and produced documentaries for her own production house “Espaces Film”—including cinematic essays like “Devils don’t Dream – Nachforschungen über Jacobo Arbenz” (Devils Don’t Dream – an Investigation on Jacobo Arbenz” by Andreas Hoessli (Berlinale Peace Film Prize in 1995), or “EPOCA – The Making of History” (2002) that she developed as co-author. In 2008 she published her first novel “Das Benefizium des Ettore Camelli” (The Benefice of Ettore Camelli) which is based on preliminary research too. Since 2024, she has been a member of the Swiss “Federal Commission Against Racism”.
