At the Internationale Tage der Information in Innsbruck, journalists from different regions of the world can speak with their specific expertise, comment on pressing issues, debate with one another and talk to scientists, NGO representatives and the Audience.

Lukas Gahleitner-Gertz is lawyer and spokesperson of asylkoordination österreich, a platform for NGOs working in the areas of asylum and integration in Austria. He is the editor of the annual AIDA report, the civil-society shadow report on developments and the status of the Austrian asylum and integration system.

Before that, he used to work as policy officer for Amnesty International Austria; and even before that, he spent 5 years as a legal trainee at Maria Windhager’s media law firm. He studied Law at the University of Innsbruck where he first got into contact with his current area of activity: As a volunteer, he interpreted for the organisation ARGE Schubhaft. As a next step, he provided legal advice and representation for 15 years to asylum seekers, including illegalised individuals, at the Vienna-based Desertion and Refugee Counselling organisation.
