Program

For three days, journalists will meet other knowledgeable mediators of information from different regions of the world in Innsbruck. In conversations with colleagues and other experts, visitors find out what is going on behind the scenes of the information on international events, which is often hastily and superficially conveyed, and can contribute.

Current social, political and cultural developments are the focus of the debates, from book presentations, exhibitions, doc-films and audio features. The Journalismusfest Innsbruck opens a window to the complex present in which we live.

On 17 October 2025, Berlin taz published its final daily print edition becoming the first major German newspaper to phase out daily printing. Since then, taz has been available online only: in the app and as an e-paper. Now, Saturday’s weekly newspaper wochentaz is the only taz print edition. As part of the newspaper breakfast, taz editor-in-chief Barbara Junge will sit down with Benedikt Sauer, discussing how they turned a new leaf, the newspaper’s identity as a left-leaning outlet and the experience of working in Germany’s only all-female newsroom – including an audience Q&A.
