Thanks to the support of its readers magazine Reportagen, Bern, conducted a global research project about the ultra-fast-fashion industry. Reporters headed to Bern, Copenhagen, Haiti, India, Ghana, and China. These texts have just been published in the XXL edition of Reportagen #82 / April 2025.
Journalist Yinmi Yao has travelled from Peking to Innsbruck. She managed to conduct her research in the control centre of the ultra-fast-fashion corporation Shein in China. She will explain the inner workings of the company that upends the fashion industry by uploading 10,000 new pieces of clothing every second day; and she will tell how Shein cleverly pushes the limits of copyright and about the deliberately accelerated low-price competition among suppliers.
