A weekend with a view

Look closely at what is happening.
Ilse Aichinger

Program

For three days, journalists will meet other knowledgeable mediators of information from different regions of the world in Innsbruck. In conversations with colleagues and other experts, visitors find out what is going on behind the scenes of the information on international events, which is often hastily and superficially conveyed, and can contribute.

Current social, political and cultural developments are the focus of the debates, from book presentations, exhibitions, doc-films and audio features. The Journalismusfest Innsbruck opens a window to the complex present in which we live.

According to a report by the Israeli NGO HaMoked, more than 6,100 Palestinians were detained without charge or trial in autumn 2025. Under administrative detention, suspects can be held for six months or longer without charge. Amnesty International has made allegations of torture on multiple counts. The Israeli musician and cultural journalist Iftach Starik, working in Israel, Palestine and Austria, has been advocating as an author for Jewish-Israeli-Palestinian dialogue and is co-founder of the young NGO Shachaf (שח״ף), which supports civil rights and due process.
