For three days, journalists will meet other knowledgeable mediators of information from different regions of the world in Innsbruck. In conversations with colleagues and other experts, visitors find out what is going on behind the scenes of the information on international events, which is often hastily and superficially conveyed, and can contribute.

The film by Austrian filmmaker Friedrich Moser explores the dangers of disinformation and propaganda, the need for a new type of journalism, and the pressing challenge for democratic societies to establish common ground—both online and offline. Moser captured 15 scientists and people from the realm of media on camera. “Just like in his whistleblower portrait ‘A Good American’, Moser choses his very own golden thread and relentlessly turns the loose interview snippets into a revelatory collage. ‘How to Build a Truth Engine’ finds settings of visual interest and a pleasant rhythm featuring an entire soundtrack”. — film journalist Marian Wilhelm. The film was co-produced by George Clooney.
