In November 2025, Austrian regional daily newspaper Tiroler Tageszeitung treated itself to a new look for its 80th anniversary. “The world is evolving, and so are we”, wrote the two editors-in-chief, Matthias Krapf and Marco Witting, in the first post-relaunch edition. The print edition’s visual update aimed to preserve the paper’s familiar feel while providing a modern look that is sophisticated, uncluttered and clean. Now, editor-in-chief Krapf and Tobias Peier from the Zurich design studio Bodara discuss how they pulled it off and what obstacles they had to overcome.
