At the Internationale Tage der Information in Innsbruck, journalists from different regions of the world can speak with their specific expertise, comment on pressing issues, debate with one another and talk to scientists, NGO representatives and the Audience.

Yinmi Yao

Yinmi Yao is a Beijing-based freelance writer specializing in narrative non-fiction that explores human experiences shaped by government policies, social structures, and corporate pressures. Her work delves into the struggles people face, how they navigate life under specific circumstances, and the shifting emotional landscapes of society. Her pieces have appeared in leading Chinese media outlets, including the Chinese edition of Stanford Social Innovation ReviewLatePostThe People Magazine, and others.

A finalist for the 2024 True Story Award, Yao has received multiple prestigious journalism honors in China, such as the 2020 Gu Yu Award and the Golden Byte Tech Reporting Award (2016, 2018, 2019).

Previously, she led the feature team at LatePost, a prominent Chinese business media outlet incubated by Caijing Magazine, China’s first independent business publication. In addition to her journalistic work, Yao is currently writing her own literary essays, exploring personal reflections and broader societal issues.
