At the Internationale Tage der Information in Innsbruck, journalists from different regions of the world can speak with their specific expertise, comment on pressing issues, debate with one another and talk to scientists, NGO representatives and the Audience.

Elke Ziegler has been working as a science journalist since 1996. She started out as a freelance journalist writing, for example for Austrian daily newspaper Der Standard and news magazine profil. After her graduation from a post-graduate study programme in Science Communication in 2004, she started to work as an online editor for science.ORF.at. Since 2013, she has also begun to write reports on scientific subjects for current radio information on Austrian radio stations Ö1 and Ö3, as well as regional radio stations of Austrian public-service broadcaster ORF. In 2021, Elke Ziegler was the first science journalist in Austria to be awarded the Robert Hochner Prize for her articles and analyses regarding the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2022, she was bestowed with the Austrian State Prize for Science Journalism for “delivering quality journalism with dedication and confidence”. Since 2021, Elke Ziegler has been head of the departments for radio and online for the science coverage of Austrian public-service broadcaster ORF that is updated daily.
