Fabian Sommavilla, born in Tyrol in 1993, has soon realized that he is a better writer than footballer, even though he remained passionate about sports. He studied in Innsbruck, The Hague and London with a focus on security policy, terrorism and border conflicts. In 2018 he joined the Austrian daily Der Standard, writing about international affairs. In 2021 he published the book 55 kuriose Grenzen und 5 bescheuerte Nachbarn which deals with border curiosites all around the world.  In 2022 he published 33 Sportereignisse, die die Welt verändern, which looks at the interconnection of sports and politics.
