Ilja Braun is working as advocacy officer at the German section of Reporters Without Borders (RSF) in Berlin. He advocates for press and media freedom, for journalism as a public good and for free speech, covering topics such as the European Media Freedom Act, Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation (SLAPPs) or the Journalism Trust Initiative (JTI). He previously worked for a parliamentary group at the German Bundestag, as a lobbyist for a consumer rights organisation and as a journalist for print, radio and online media.
