Ivona Jelčić (born in 1975) is a freelance journalist, author and host. She writes for Austrian daily newspaper Der Standard, street paper 20er and other media outlets. Doing so, she focusses on art, culture, and socio-political topics as well as columns on the culture of building and catalogue articles. She was Head of the Culture Department of Austrian regional daily newspaper Tiroler Tageszeitung for ten years and studied Comparative Literary Studies, Romance Studies and Media Studies in Innsbruck. Every once in a while, she writes books – for example on the beginnings of the First Republic in Tyrol (“14 Tage 1918” (14 days of 1918), published by Tyrolia Verlag, in collaboration with Matthias Breit) – and creates films.
