Katharina Mittelstaedt is senior editor at Austrian daily newspaper DER STANDARD. As a journalist focusing on domestic policy, she mainly writes about political linkages, authors portraits, reports, and records podcasts on a regular basis. She also has a great passion for reporting on criminal cases. She was born in the US, is based in Salzburg, and has been working for STANDARD since 2013. In the beginning, she was Tyrol correspondent and went on to become vice-head of the department for domestic policy and current affairs. Mittelstaedt studied journalism and media management at University of Applied Sciences Vienna, where she intermittently works as a lecturer.
