Martin Thür has been active as a television reporter for more than twenty years. He realised numerous reports and documentaries and was responsible for the programmes on the occasion of the election of the Austrian Federal President and National Council with commercial broadcaster ATV. Among other matters, he reported on the ramifications of the Paris terrorist attacks, the Fukushima nuclear disaster and political events in Washington, Brussels, Rome and Berlin. In 2015, he was awarded a “Romy” for developing and hosting the political interview format “Klartext” (Straight Talk). As a co-organiser of the Österreichische Journalismustage (Austrian Days of Journalism), he was able to welcome important figures in the realm of journalism to Vienna, for instance American Watergate whistleblower Carl Bernstein. Since 2019, Thür has been hosting Austrian news programme “ZIB 2 on Austrian public-service broadcaster ORF 2 and realising different reports. In 2022, Martin Thür was awarded the Concordia Award for Press Freedom and the Robert Hochner Award.
