Matthias C. Kettemann is Professor of Innovation, Theory and Philosophy of Law and head of the Department for Theory and Future of Law at the University of Innsbruck. He leads the University’s Quantum Ethics and Digital Diversity Law Labs. He leads research groups and programs at the Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society, Berlin, the Leibniz Institute for Media Research | Hans-Bredow-Institut, Hamburg. He studied law at Graz, Geneva and Harvard Law School, taught at the Universities of Frankfurt, Heidelberg and Jena and works on the power of rules and the rules of power in online spaces. He has been engaged as an expert for the Council of Europe, UNESCO, the OSCE, the German and Canadian parliaments, a number of ministries and national and international IT companies.
