Wolfger Mayrhofer is Deputy Secretary General of the Alpine Convention. He earned his PhD in Law, studied Philosophy as well as Slavonic studies—in Vienna, Innsbruck and Moscow—and completed a post-graduate programme on European integration for public administration.
For almost 30 years now, Wolfger Mayrhofer has been involved with cross-border collaboration in the Alpine area and has spent more than 20 years as a member of the Permanent Secretariat Team of the Alpine Convention in Innsbruck, where he acts as legal consultant and currently as Deputy Secretary General. Wolfger Mayrhofer published on questions of transnational cooperation of mountain regions, traffic policy, tourism and soil conservation on numerous accounts.
In his free time, he likes to indulge in alpinism and ski tourism.
