Ed Moschitz was born in Judenburg in Upper Styria in 1968. After completing an apprenticeship and his A-levels, he studied journalism, political science and sociology at the University of Vienna. During his studies, he began working at the radio stations FM4 and Österreich 1. He dedicated his master’s thesis to the topic of authenticity in television formats. He wrote the screenplay and directed the cinema documentary Mama Illegal, for which he received numerous international film awards.
He has been researching and creating TV reports and documentaries for 25 years, mainly for the ORF editorial department Am Schauplatz. Ed Moschitz has received numerous awards for his work, including the Civis _ Europe’s Media Prize for Integration, Information category in 2014 and the Austrian Film and Television Prize Romy in the Best Documentary TV/Stream category in 2021 for Am Schauplatz “Ibiza in den Alpen” and “Das große Schweigen”.
