Eric Frey is senior editor and chief editor at daily newspaper DER STANDARD. Over the course of his over three decades long career in the STANDARD editorial team, he has been serving as head of the departments of foreign policy, economics and managing editor. On a regular basis, he writes comments and analyses on numerous topics focusing on world politics and economy.
Eric Frey studied international relations at Princeton University (US) and he earned his doctorate in political sciences at the University of Vienna. He often teaches at the Webster University Vienna and at the Institute for Journalism at the University of Applied Sciences Vienna. He was a longstanding correspondent for the “Financial Times” and the “Economist”. He published several books about the USA, world politics and economics, and in 2016, he was awarded the Horst Knapp Prize for Economic Journalism.
