Lisa-Katharina Breuer was born in Hagen in 1995. She gained her first theatre experience in children’s and youth clubs and through internships in various technical areas at Theater Hagen and Theater Dortmund. She studied art history and philosophy at the Ruhr University Bochum and the Università degli Studi di Urbino Carlo Bo, Italy. Parallel to her studies, she worked as an assistant director at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein and the Hagen Theatre, among others. In 2020, she took up her first permanent position at Staatstheater Mainz and worked with Alexander Nerlich, Brit Bartkowiak, Kathrin Mädler and K.D. Schmidt, among others. She also appeared on stage there for two seasons in the production Wer Werden. In addition to installations for readings, she created her own directorial work, 21 Grad, based on motifs by Émile Zola, for which she also wrote the version. She moved to the Bühnen Bern in the 2023/24 season.
