Toni Ebner is editor-in-chief of the daily newspaper Dolomiten, Bolzano.
Born in Bolzano in 1957, he studied Austrian and Italian law at the University of Innsbruck after graduating from the Walther von der Vogelweide Humanistic High School.

He began his journalistic career as a freelancer for the Innsbruck Dolomiten editorial office. He was an editorial trainee at the Catholic weekly newspaper präsent (Verlagsanstalt Tyrolia) in Innsbruck. Completed a training course at the Kuratorium für Journalistenausbildung in Vienna. Was an intern at the Salzburger Nachrichten. This was followed by training as an agency journalist at the news agency APA in Vienna. Ebner was then head of the APA editorial office for Tyrol in Innsbruck (1983-1985), returned to the Dolomites in Bolzano in 1985, became head of the economics department and project manager for technical innovations in the editorial office. Ebner was the founding editor-in-chief of the South Tyrolean Sunday newspaper “Zett” in 1989, became deputy editor-in-chief in 1992 and has been editor-in-chief of the “Dolomiten” since 1995.

Toni Ebner has been on the board of Athesia AG since 2011. From 2001 to 2013 Ebner was President of the Association of European Minority Daily Newspapers MIDAS; since then he has been a member of the Midas Board. And from 1998 to 2013, lecturer at the Institute for Contemporary History at the Tyrolean Provincial University of Innsbruck.

He received the Trentino journalism prize “Premio Val di Sole” for transparent journalism. Ebner is married and father of two children.
